5. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts haven’t had a ton of luck throughout their franchise history, and caught themselves on the other end of the New England Patriots’ DeflateGate scandal in 2014. However, they’ve had a certain specific element of “Luck” to their game that no other team has.

Similar to what the Green Bay Packers experienced with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, the Colts have benefited from some good fortune under center since Peyton Manning was drafted by the team all the way back in 1998. He stayed with the team until 2011, and delivered the franchise its first Super Bowl win since 1971 in 2006, just their second NFL title in team history.

Right as Manning’s run in Indy came to an end, they experienced a changing of the guard, almost like Rodgers stepping in right away in Green Bay. The team drafted Andrew Luck with the number one pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, and he stepped right in as the team’s starting quarterback upon Manning’s departure.

Luck hasn’t had the same success as Manning in his time in Indianapolis so far, but he’s still been solid for the team over the last few years. He’s delivered two division titles in the AFC South, three postseason appearances, an AFC Championship appearance and even led the NFL in passing touchdowns in 2014.

While they haven’t reached a Super Bowl in Luck’s brief tenure with the team, there’s still plenty of time to make that happen. They’ve been set with their quarterbacks and receivers for almost 20 years at this point, have a Super Bowl win to show for it, and will stick around for years to come with “Luck” on their side.
