4.  Jonathan Marchessault

After an excellent, high-scoring season with the Florida Panthers, Marchessault was brought in to further develop with the Vegas organization.

Prior to the 2016-17 campaign, Marchessault had just eight career goals through 49 career games. Then he burst out on the scene and is one of the Golden Knights most anticipated forwards, considering fans are excited to see what he does next.

In 72 games with the Panthers this season, Marchessault led all Florida skaters with 30 goals. His 51 points were good for third on the team in scoring, and he made a mark as one of the team’s best players.

The 26-year-old center still shows a lot of room to grow moving forward and has great vision and upside. Not only does Marchessault own a lethal, accurate shot, but he can make smart plays and create scoring chances in any scenario.

At 5-foot-9 and174 pounds, Marchessault’s size is a bit of a concern; however, he had over 100 hits this past season and can throw his weight around, while playing a sound game at both ends of the rink. With that being said, his frame has become less of a concern, and he has no problem stacking up to his opponents.

The Golden Knights will be expecting him to follow up a breakout year with yet another high-scoring campaign, and the biggest question surrounds whether or not he will be able to put up similar numbers and remain consistent. Still, with his skill, ability and growth, Marchessault can definitely live up to the expectations.
