If you like basketball stories and the 2000s Washington Wizards, then you’re sure to love the impending Caron Butler biopic.

The next greatest basketball movie will be coming to a silver screen near you, sometime soon. Apparently movie star Mark Wahlberg is in the process of making the Caron Butler story into a biopic. From his days as a youth drug dealer to a star with the UConn Huskies, to his lengthy NBA career, this movie has to be made.

TMZ Sports reports that Wahlberg is “layering in on 3 names” for the biopic’s director: Peter Berg, Spike Lee and Barry Jenkins. This movie production has teeth to it, as Wahlberg has reportedly spoken with all three directors. Even Butler himself has a suggestion for who to play him — Michael B. Jordan.

Butler was the former No. 10 overall pick by the Miami Heat in the 2002 NBA Draft. He spent two years in South Beach before bouncing around in his 14-year NBA career. Butler achieved most of his on-court success as a part of the Washington Wizards. He was a two-time All-Star with the Wizards in 2007 and 2008.

Butler would play for nine NBA franchises in his career including the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, Sacramento Kings, and Dallas Mavericks. He was famous for his defense and one of the best nicknames in NBA history — “Tuff Juice”.
