Los Angeles Rams: Tavon Austin, Pharoh Cooper, Cooper Kupp, Josh Reynolds

Now that the Los Angeles Rams are done with running an archaic offense and hopefully 7-9 B.S. in general, it might be time to really get to know this receiving corps that franchise quarterback Jared Goff will be throwing the ball to this fall.

Tavon Austin has been a bubble-screen, scat back out at receiver for the Rams since 2013. He has been recently paid, but that has not translated to winning in the passing game. Pharoh Cooper had a ton of promise coming out of South Carolina in the 2016 NFL Draft, but his rookie campaign came and went without much impact.

Then there are the two rookies that general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay have drafted this spring: Cooper Kupp out of Eastern Washington and Josh Reynolds out of Texas A&M. Kupp has the feel of a high-impact possession receiver in the middle of the field. He could be something special for the Rams. Reynolds played in a pass heavy offense in college. He could be that vertical threat on the outside the Rams passing game is missing terribly.

Overall, McVay will find a way to get the most out of this wide receiving corps. He did run the Washington Redskins offense well enough the last few years to become the youngest head coach in NFL history. How these wideouts play will go a long way in helping decide Goff’s fate and largely McVay’s over the next few years.
