After going MIA this past weekend from the BIG3’s stop in Dallas, Allen Iverson has issued an apology for not being present.

This past weekend Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league made a stop in Dallas for some 3-on-3 basketball, however, there was a pretty notable name absent from the festivities. Actually, one of the bigger names of the BIG3 family was not in attendance, as 3’s Company player-coach Allen Iverson was nowhere to be found. This prompted the BIG3 to release a statement on the matter, actually worrying some folks as there was really no information as to Iverson’s whereabouts.

It’s since been learned that Iverson was indeed okay, thankfully, which put the absence into an even bigger light. On Tuesday, after a few days of silence, Iverson took to his Instagram account to offer up an apology to the fans, Ice Cube and the BIG3 as a whole.

Now where was Iverson, exactly, when he was supposed to be in Dallas on Sunday for his scheduled appearance? Well, his reasoning for missing the game might not be all that favorable to everyone involved, as TMZ reported Iverson was in fact gambling outside of Chicago. So, yeah, not the best reasoning in the world just up and no-show a scheduled appearance for the league.

The good news here from the statement is that apparently he’s still in good standing with Ice Cube and the league despite what happened over the weekend, as the former Philadelphia 76ers star did note that he will be making his scheduled appearances moving forward.

As for whether or not that will actually be the case here, well … this is Allen Iverson we’re talking about. And as people noted on Sunday as the saga was ongoing, you never really know when it comes to the man who does not want to talk about practice.
