NBA 2K18 is beginning to release ratings and in-game footage of players. First up are the top two draft picks, Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball.
A growing cross section of sports fandom and video game players see the month of August as an exciting time. Not only does EA Sports release Madden during the month but NBA 2K begins rolling out in-game screen shots and leaking player ratings.
NBA 2K18 took to twitter to announce a few of the ratings.
Fultz and Ball are the highest rated rookies in 2K since John Wall entered the league. Even consensus number one picks Anthony Davis and Karl Towns did not get the accolades from the video game that these two are getting.
It also looks as if the developers brought Lonzo into 2K headquarters to replicate his funky, but effective jumper.
2K previously released the ratings of Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Dwight Howard and Nick Young. No surprise to see Curry and Durant at 94 and 96 respectively. These two will no doubt be up towards the top of all players.
The game has been slower than some had thought releasing in-game footage. This may be due to the NBA’s deal with Nike kicking in this off-season. Nike has been previewing jerseys to fans all summer. 2K will release the game with the Nike jerseys. With them finally getting their hands on what they will look like, the screenshots are pouring in.

The developers also gave us our first look at two players in new situations; Victor Oladipo and D’Angelo Russell.
As the September 19th release date nears, look for 2K to continue to put the new ratings out there. Hopefully we will also begin seeing in-game footage and get more information surrounding some of the revamped game modes.
