A Mississippi strip club is taking a stab at former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze and hosting a special tribute night for him.

Let’s just say the past year hasn’t been too kind to Hugh Freeze.

After Ole Miss suffered numerous recruiting violations in 2016, things got worse.  Last month the University discovered that Freeze made a call to a female escort service on his work-issued cell phone. It led to Freeze’s immediate resignation as the head football coach.

All of these recent problems haven’t gone unnoticed and have left many Rebels’ fans angry. Now a Mississippi strip club owner is getting his revenge, and in Starkville of all places, home of the Egg Bowl rival Mississippi State Bulldogs.

The Pony, a strip club in Starkville, is hosting a “Huge Freeze Tribute Party.”

Yes, you heard that right.

And of course, there will specific details for the party:

"So how does a Hugh Freeze tribute party work? Well Westlund says if the doormen think someone looks like Freeze, they’ll be allowed in with no cover. And there will be free admission plus a free drink to anyone who “turns in your Ole Miss official SEC coaching visor.”"

This is one of the funniest and most clever things you can do. It’s a harmless move and still takes a major stab at the former head coach. There’s really nothing you can do but laugh at this.

Freeze also might want to go back and take a look at his Twitter account. The internet has a knack for being unforgiving.

As the offseason for the Rebels has not been bad enough, the program has already self-imposed a postseason ban for the upcoming season. So no matter how well they do, it won’t count for anything. For the perspective of the coaches, players and fans, that’s frustrating to say the least.

This is embarrassing for Freeze nonetheless. For a head coach that openly talked about his religious beliefs, we’ve certainly seen a different side the past month.

I think we can put our money on Freeze skipping out on the party, but would we really be shocked if he showed up? Probably not.
