Don’t worry! We have the answer for when NBA news slows down in August

NEW YORK, NY - JUNE 25: Allen Iverson
NEW YORK, NY - JUNE 25: Allen Iverson

The deluge of NBA free agency news seems to have finally slowed to a trickle, just in time for Allen Iverson to step into the breach and get himself suspended in the BIG3. Basketball never sleeps, or something. And neither does Fastbreak Breakfast.

August episodes can get weird for an NBA podcast (and this one definitely does), but thankfully Iverson, Kyrie Irving and even Stephon Marbury have provided enough fodder for us to stay vaguely on point. At least, as much as we would have anyhow.

TIME STAMPS:

  • 4:00 If Manchester City and Tottenham were NBA clubs, which ones would they be?
  • 13:30 Unrelated to Irving’s still-shocking trade demands, how is he making life harder for middle school teachers?
  • 15:45 Is the Knicks signing of Tim Hardaway Jr. being unfairly criticized? How does he compare to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Victor Oladipo and other wings?
  • 24:00 Should we be bothered by the Iverson story?
  • 25:00 What does a BIG3 investigator even look like (HT @corbinasmith)?
  • 31:00 A celebration of Starbury’s Chinese career, museum and new feature film
  • 34:50 What in the name of Bob Hill are the Spurs doing?
  • 38:00 Have we been too quick to dismiss the signings of Derrick Rose and Jeff Green for the minimum?
  • 46:45 An International Stackhouse of Pancakes end of year report: Who had the most awards and nominations for the 2016-17 season? Which player had the most nominations without getting a win? And who was the most efficient ISHOPer, if such a thing exists?
