Just as the NFL preseason is about to get started, the Miami Dolphins could be in some trouble regarding the quarterback position as Ryan Tannehill left practice with an injury.
The Miami Dolphins were looking to make some sort of run in the AFC East this upcoming NFL season against the New England Patriots, but of course, a lot of that hope rests on the shoulders of quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Entering his sixth year in the league, the team and fans were expecting Tannehill to finally make the big jump they’ve been hoping for as the franchise signal-caller for the ‘Fins.
Unfortunately, that all may have suffered a minor setback on Thursday. During the team’s morning practice, Tannehill went down on the field with a non-contact injury and was forced to leave the field.

No one hit Tannehill. He simply stepped awkwardly once he hit the sideline.

Shortly after Tannehill left he field with the injury, the trainer who was attending to him came back out onto the field to update head coach Adam Gase. Generally, we could tell the severity of the injury by the coach’s reaction, however, not in this case.

What makes this happening on Thursday all the more devastating is that Tannehill was making his way back from a knee injury. The Texas A&M product did not finish the regular season last year, as he suffered a sprain in his left knee in December against the Arizona Cardinals that caused him to miss the rest of the campaign.
With Tannehill down for the moment, the No. 1 quarterback duties now turn to veteran Matt Moore, who has already begun taking the snaps with the first team at practice with the first team.

Last season, Tannehill threw for 2,995 yards and 19 touchdowns with a 67 percent completion percentage before his season was ended prematurely.
