According to screenrant, writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade will work on the script for Bond 25. Purvis’ and Wade’s first script for the series was The World is Not Enough. They’ve had a hand in every Bond script since.

We can now expect a deluge of announcements. We will soon learn whether Craig is going to remain Bond. Bond fans can also expect the director to be announced, and for production to start quickly.

So  what can we guess about the next James Bond adventure?
Fellow FanSided contributor David Pegram thinks we’re in for more Jung. I agree that’s likely. I know some Bond fans aren’t keen on this, but we are talking about two of the people who brought more Jung to Bond, so we can expect this to continue. Let’s not forget that the franchise has had great financial success doing this.
We can also guess that the villain’s scheme will tie into current headlines: The World is Not Enough did this with Russian oil development projects. Quantum of Solace and Spectre with the increased ability of states to monitor their citizens. It’s reasonable to assume the next James Bond film will grapple with Brexit somehow.
Purvis and Wave have both shown an interest in creating a cohesive storyline between entries since Casino Royale. This has not been true for the Bond franchise since the Connery era ended. If Craig does return, Bond 25 will have to address the next steps of Bond’s relationship to Madeline. It will also have to decide how and why Bond will come back to MI6 (Do you really think he’ll stay retired?). I find it very believable that Craig will face off with Blofeld again, but we don’t know if he’s signed on for Bond 25.
M Will Probably Be More Important Than Q
My personal hunch is that Ralph Fiennes’ M will play a strong supporting role in the story. This has been a tradition of every Bond scripted by Purvis and Wade. This has been a signature element of their take on Bond. I personally feel it had a big effect in improving both Casino Royale and Skyfall.
What do you think? Are you excited to have Purvis and Wade return? Would you have preferred if the franchise had given new writers a chance? Sound off in the comments below, and thank you for reading.
