The Los Angeles Dodgers made history when they beat the Mets on Saturday.
To say the Los Angeles Dodgers are on a roll would be a severe understatement. They did something that hasn’t been done since 1912 with their win over the New York Mets on Saturday.
They have won 43 games in a 50-game stretch.

The Dodgers have been churning along at an unprecedented pace all season. They are on pace to win 114 games this year, which would tie the 1998 Yankees for second most in a single season.
The Dodgers have only lost one game so far in the month of August. They lost a grand total of three games in July too; four if you count the National League losing the All-Star game.
When this stretch started on June 7th the Dodgers were two games back in the National League West. Since then, the Dodgers have marched to the top of the division and lead by 14 games. They’re certainly going to run away with the division barring any monumental collapse.
They’ve done it just about any way you can think of as well. They have the best record when leading at any point. They also broke the Major League record for most consecutive games won when leading at any point with 53. They now have 32 come from behind wins including Saturday’s win.
Clayton Kershaw was almost a lock to win the Cy Young before his injury, but he still leads baseball in wins with 15, and the Dodgers are 19-2 in his 21 starts this season. Alex Wood is 13-1, and let’s not forget they shocked everyone at the deadline and acquired Yu Darvish.
Offensively Cody Bellinger is the best thing since sliced bread.
Cody Bellinger can play max of 142 games, due to call-up date. @MLB record for age-21 season of that length (or less) is 33 HR. He has 31.

He’s also on pace to be the first player with 40 home runs at age-21 or younger season since Eddie Mathews did it in 1953.
What the Dodgers are doing is borderline unfair, but everything you just read doesn’t matter if they don’t end the season with a World Series trophy. They haven’t won one since 1988, and they’ve been bounced in the NLDS each of the past two seasons. It’s championship or bust for the Dodgers this year.
