Will Kyle Busch continue his torrid hot streak, or does someone else have the car to beat at The Glen?
NASCAR can be a funny sport sometimes, especially when it comes to momentum. Just a few weeks back, everyone was talking about when Kyle Busch was going to win his first race, as he was mired in a career-long winless streak.
Now all of a sudden, Busch looks unstoppable. He emphatically broke through with a win at Pocono, a track at which he had never won. Then he won for the first time in an XFINITY Series car at Watkins Glen on Saturday, easily outrunning the Team Penske duo of Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski and Paul Menard down the strecth.
Is Busch now the man to beat in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series? It’s a valid question as the action turns to the I Love New York 355 at The Glen. Maybe Watkins Glen will be a place for someone to rise up and get a victory that will propel them into the playoffs, like Clint Bowyer.
But increasingly, it looks like it might be the Kyle Busch show. He’s on the pole again this afternoon and will be a hard man to beat if he gets out in front of the field. Can Kyle Larson (2nd) or Martin Truex Jr. (3rd) run him down? Tune in today at 3:00 p.m. on NBCSN to find out.
