Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough suffered a terrible leg injury at the end of last season, but claims that he’s nearing 100 percent and all set for 2017.

Alabama has been known to churn out top flight running backs who produce at the collegiate and professional level. The latest one in the chain is Bo Scarbrough, who was absolutely dominating in the national title game against Clemson.

With a freshman quarterback, Scarbrough was the focal point of Alabama’s offense down the stretch in 2016. In the finale against Clemson, the Crimson Tide rusher ran for 93 yards on 16 carries, including two touchdowns.

But that was the last we saw of him in 2016, as he was carried off the field with an apparent leg injury. Head coach Nick Saban did state that the injury was “non-surgical” and they expected him to “make a full recovery.”

Just as Saban claimed, it seems as if Scarbrough has brought himself back to full health in time for the 2017 season.

The junior running back spoke with AL.com this past weekend, where he added:

"I worked back to where I was. Now I’m better and hopefully great things can happen."

Scarbrough was an absolute monster for Alabama last season. Looking at his statistics, he might have only rushed for 812 yards during the season, but a majority of those came towards the end of the season. He won Peach Bowl MVP on the backs of a 180-yard rushing performance that led to an Alabama victory.

Hopefully Scarbrough can stay healthy throughout the 2017 season because the sky is the limit for this young man. The Crimson Tide have had fantastic running backs such as Trent Richardson or Derrick Henry, but Scarbrough has the chance to be the best out of all of them.

Opposing defenses in the SEC should take note of what they’re about to face on a weekly basis with a healthy Scarbrough.
