1. Liverpool

From what I can tell, Liverpool are the only Premier League club sporting a New Balance kit. After seeing the Reds’ three new creations this season, I would venture to say that more clubs will be taking a closer look at the company. All three are stunning individually, and the away kit is the most unique in the Premier League.

All three new kits celebrate the 125 years of the club’s history. The home uniforms seen above are a classic Liverpool style with a deeper red than worn in previous years. The white sleeve stripe and collar add a nice touch without being overbearing.

The away kit for Liverpool’s upcoming season is distinctive and individualistic. I’ve yet to see a more unique kit this year.

The quartered design is reminiscent of the Reds’ kit in the 1995-96 season, but with a more modern and sleek look. The thin green pinstripes that run down the diagonally placed squares are both fun and classy at the same time. I could see myself buying one of these, and I’m far from a Liverpool supporter.

My only minor, trivial complaint is the socks. The look would have a better sense of completion had New Balance continued with the quartered design, or made them a solid black. But I’m being pedantic.

Liverpool’s alternate kit is of the same design as their home, but with a vibrant orange dominating the shirt. It’s tough to keep the Halloween look away from anything that is primarily orange and black, but New Balance found the correct ratio using the black only on the edges of the kit. Orange is often the most difficult color to get “right,” so bonus points for Liverpool here.
