Keepting track of all the rumors and reports regarding WWE SummerSlam 2017 leading up to the Aug. 20 show from Brooklyn, NY

WWE SummerSlam 2017 is shaping up to live up to its billing. As one of the “Big 4” pay-per-views of the year and the first since WrestleMania, there are high expectations. Making that even more so the case is the location. If there’s one thing that we know about Barclays Center and the fans in Brooklyn, it’s that the fans are always “smart” and loud.

Subsequently, WWE knows that they have to do a solid job of making this a desirable card for the show. For the most part, they’ve managed to do that. Though it would seem that there are a few more matches coming, WWE SummerSlam 2017 is already littered with big-time title matches.

Those matches are, of course, headlined by the WWE Universal Championship Fatal 4-Way. Brock Lesnar will put his title on the line against Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns. Not far behind that is the WWE World Championship match as Jinder Mahal faces Shinsuke Nakamura for his belt. Both matches should be huge.

Obviously there is more to come on WWE SummerSlam 2017. However, there are also going to be numerous rumors and reports to follow leading up to the Aug. 20 show. That’s where we’re coming to help.

Looking back over recent weeks and updating moving forward, we’ll keep track of all the WWE SummerSlam rumors that you need to know:

  • According to Dave Meltzer, The Undertaker is in Brooklyn for WWE SummerSlam. And the speculation is that he could cost Roman Reigns the championship.
  • In the Cageside Seats Rumor Round-up from Friday, it was noted that Brock Lesnar is looking less likely to lose the Universal title. But again, anything can happen.
  • Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Alexa Bliss was not slated to lose to Bayley. With Sasha Banks in the match, however, it’s unknown if plans remain the same.
  • This has been widely reported, but expect John Cena on RAW on Monday after SummerSlam.
  • SportsKeeda reported that Naomi is not slated to lose the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.
