The 2017 PGA Championship will be held from August 10 to 13. Where will it be held?
The 2017 PGA Championship marks the end of the 2017 golfing season. At least for the majors, as the next major to be held will be the 2018 Masters. It’s one of the biggest golf events of the season. Also, this will be the second to last time the tournament will be held in August. Beginning in 2019, it will be held in May.
With a deep field featuring 13 past champions, it should be an exciting tournament. Jordan Spieth has to be the favorite, though. He’s been on fire as of late. Though it is worth noting the PGA Championship is the lone major he has yet to win. His highest finish in the final tournament of the PGA season? Second place, back in 2015.
Should Spieth win the 2017 PGA Championship, he will have won all four majors. A win will cement him as golf’s newest star. And it couldn’t have come at a better time, especially with Tiger Wood’s violently fast fall from the top.
This year, the PGA Championship will be held at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Golf enthusiasts might recognize the course, which has been the host for several events in the past. It consistently ranks among the nation’s top courses. However, this will be the first time it has hosted a major. Therefore, many of the players will go into the tournament having limited experience there, excluding practice.

Rory McIlroy and Vinjay Singh are the two players in the field who have won the PGA Championship multiple times. The former won in 2012 and 2014 while the latter won in 1998 and 2004. However, both aren’t favored to win, for different reasons. McIlroy has the talent, but hasn’t done well as of late. Singh is still a very solid golfer, but hasn’t won a major since his 2004 win.
