Trevor Davis got the Packers on the board in a big way on Thursday night in the preseason opener against the Eagles

The 2017 NFL preseason is underway this week, and one of the games we’re being treated to on Thursday night is the Philadelphia Eagles on the road taking on the Green Bay Packers. And while the Eagles were able to take the early lead, Trevor Davis got the Packers back in this exhibition game in a huge way in the second quarter.

In the second quarter of this one, with the Eagles holding a 6-0 lead, Philadelphia brought out the punting unit and launched the ball in the direction of Davis. Davis then eluded some of the Eagles punt team unit, hit the seam to the right side and he was off to the races from there down the sideline with only the kicker to beat.

Spoiler Alert: Eagles punter Donnie Jones was not able to make the play on Davis and it resulted in the Packers’ first touchdown of the preseason here in 2017.

Of course, no big play in Green Bay would be complete without a Lambeau Leap, so kudos to Davis for finishing off the play the right way at home on Thursday night.

Davis is entering his second season with the Packers and plays like this will surely garner him some more playing time on the field. He was drafted by the Packers in the 5th round of 2016 NFL Draft and it looks as if this year he’s coming into his own on this team. Green Bay may have another threat on the special teams for the regular season.

Also, in regards to this play, can we talk about how much better the voice of Kevin Harlan makes plays like this? The man is one of the best in the world.
