Crystal Palace face Huddersfield at Selhurst Park on Saturday, August 12. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Crystal Palace have gone through quite a bit of change in the past calendar year. Former manager Alan Pardew lasted until late December before getting the ax, as the Eagles were in a relegation scrap. Sam Allardyce was brought in to stabilize the club and steered them clear of the bottom of the table. However, he resigned after just five months in charge and retired from management. Frank De Boer took over in June and will hope to improve on their 14th place finish from last season. Palace have not made many changes to their squad, only adding Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan and Ajax center-back Jairo Riedewald.
Huddersfield will be playing their first match in the Premier League in club history. David Wagner was appointed manager in November of 2015, and two years later finds himself in the top flight. Wagner has been very active in the transfer market, making eight new permanent signings with two others on loan, including six of their most expensive signings in club history. The Terriers play a high-press, harassing style of soccer, and will need everyone to fully buy into their system to survive in the Premier League.
