NJPW G1 Climax 27 Finals: Tetsuya Naito vs Kenny Omega highlights

In the finals of the G1 Climax 27 Tournament, Tetsuya Naito went one-on-one with Kenny Omega for a spot in the main event in the Wrestle Kingdom 12 in January. Here’s the full highlights of what took place in the final match of the G1 Climax.

In the finals of the G1 Climax 27 Tournament, Tetsuya Naito (A Block winner) was slated to take on Kenny Omega (B Block winner) for a spot in the Wrestle Kingdom 12 main event in January.

Naito (12 points in A Block) won a classic against Hiroshi Tanahashi to clinch a spot in Sunday’s final against Omega, who won the B Block after finally getting some retribution in his awesome rivalry with Kazuchika Okada this year in a thrilling main event during Day 18.

The duo faced each other in the G1 Climax 26 Tournament as members of the same block and that match was won by Omega, which vaulted him to a victory in the final over Hirooki Goto and sent him into his first meeting with Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 11 this past January.

So of course, we’re basically back where we started for Omega. He’s been on a fantastic run in Japan, including a tournament victory in the United States that saw him win the IWGP United States title.

Naito and the rest of Los Ingobernables de Japon have gotten better and better with each show. Their popularity increases with each event and with a win for Naito over Omega, it would launch the group into another atmosphere, especially with EVIL’s win over Okada during the tournament.
