National League Division Leaders

NL East

Washington Nationals (70-46, .603)

On paper, it was a winning week for the Nationals. Washington beat the Marlins three games to one in the early week series in D.C., and beat the Giants in two of three in a rain-soaked three-game weekend set. However, an ugly-looking knee injury to Bryce Harper clouded the results. Though Harper apparently suffered no structural damage, he will be on the disabled list for at least two weeks.

Ryan Zimmerman and Howie Kendrick were among the offensive leaders as each drove in seven runs during the week. Zimmerman tied Brian Goodwin for the team lead with nine hits and led the club with three home runs and eight runs scored. Max Scherzer maintained his lead in the NL Cy Young race with two strong starts, and Gio Gonzalez and Edwin Jackson allowed one run each in 13 combined innings across their two starts.

NL Central

Chicago Cubs (61-55, .526)

Kris Bryant led the major leagues with 14 hits in six games last week, posting an incredible .609/.679/.913 slash in the process. Bryant homered once, drove in four runs and scored four as well. Jay Baez and Jon Jay also scored four runs for the Cubs, and Baez led the team with two homers and six RBI.

Jake Arrieta continued his good work on the mound for Chicago with two wins and a 2.19 ERA in 12.1 innings across two starts.

NL West

Los Angeles Dodgers (83-34, .709)

Cody Bellinger has dominated the NL Rookie of the Year Award race and continued to build his case for MVP consideration after hitting .417/.462/.792 with two home runs, four RBI and seven runs scored for the Dodgers last week. Justin Turner led the club with four homers and nine RBI and also scored six runs for Los Angeles, who still have not lost a series since June 5-7.
