With the release of the full NBA Schedule on Monday, let’s took at the two dates that the Golden State Warriors play the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Golden State Warriors. Cleveland Cavaliers. Two of the biggest brands in the NBA today. They’ve met in the last three NBA Finals and nobody sees a reason why they won’t both be back for a fourth-straight time.
The Warriors brought back the entire band with Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston re-signing. They added Omri Casspi and Nick “Swaggy P” Young to the mix in free agency.
On the other hand, the Cavaliers haven’t had that kind of stability. They fired their general manager, David Griffin, and have the dark cloud of the Kyrie Irving trade request floating over their heads. They whiffed on Jimmy Butler and Paul George, and added veteran role players to the end of the bench.
So when will these two juggernauts face off during the regular season?
A Christmas tradition is not only opening presents or spending time with family, but it’s also watching the Warriors play the Cavaliers. They’ll face off again on December 25 in the afternoon prime-time slot. This time it’ll be in Oracle Arena, after it was in Quicken Loans Arena last year. Typically, the Finals’ winner gets to host the Christmas Day game (makes sense, right?)
Their second and final matchup in the regular season will come on Martin Luther King Jr. Day — January 15. This will take place back in Ohio, at the Quicken Loans Arena.

The regular season games between the Warriors and Cavaliers haven’t been very competitive in years past. The Christmas Day games have been tight — especially last season, when the Cavaliers won on a Irving game-winning shot over Klay Thompson. But the games in Cleveland have typically been blowouts in favor of the defending champions.
The two biggest teams will be playing again in June most likely, but here’s when they play during the 82-game regular season.
