1. Jarrett Stidham

If there’s one thing that the Auburn Tigers have lacked over the years, it’s consistent quarterback play. Finally, that problem is solved.

Former 5-star quarterback Jarrett Stidham transferred to Auburn in December. Stidham jumped ship at Baylor amid the chaos and scandal in Waco. Although he transferred, Stidham is eligible to start right away for Auburn after he sat out a season. And start he will.

Stidham is the most notable addition to any team in college football in the offseason. He improves Auburn’s quarterback situation tremendously. While at Baylor, Stidham backed-up Seth Russell, but got extended playing time, as he saw the field in 10 of the Bears’ games. However, his season was cut short due to injury. Nonetheless, he was one of the best quarterbacks in the nation during his stint as starter.

Stidham completed 75-of-109 passes as a freshman. He threw for 1265 yards and posted a 6:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio. 12 touchdowns and two interceptions, as a true freshman. In addition, Stidham tossed a touchdown and 267 yards on 16-for-20 passing in Auburn’s spring game. Head coach Gus Malzahn has continually praised Stidham for his tremendous work ethic after hours of studying and improving mechanics. Stidham’s teammates have also expressed excitement to step onto the field with him. According to teammates, Stidham’s leadership abilities are unmatched.

Junior Sean White has been competing with Stidham for the starting job all spring. White struggled with injuries last season that led to inconsistent play. Under Stidham’s leadership, the Tigers will thrive and once again compete for college football’s top prize.
