Ric Flair medical update: Nature Boy in critical condition following colon surgery

Ric Flair underwent surgery on Monday and he’s currently in critical condition as he tries to recover

The professional wrestling world collectively held their breath on Monday when the news came down that Ric Flair was in the ICU in the hospital and was set to undergo surgery. On Saturday it was first revealed that Flair was admitted to the hospital for heart-related issues, though at the time the visit was just described as some “routine monitoring.” Monday, though, things took a turn for the worst.

Now, we have a brief update on Flair’s condition. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports on Tuesday that Flair underwent colon surgery on Monday and those colon issues actually led to some other health setbacks. The situation was so serious that Flair was put on kidney dialysis, which of course is always a sign of just how bad the condition is. Flair is in critical condition as doctors try to get him back to the best state of health they possibly could.

Also on Tuesday, we got the first comments from Flair’s daughter on the matter, current WWE superstar Charlotte Flair. She took to Instagram to issue this brief statement on what her legendary father is going through right now.

It’s certainly good to know that the surgery seems to have went well, but still, Flair is not out of the woods just yet. From the latest report here from Meltzer, this is going to be a long road to recovery for the 16-time world champion, but everyone will be behind him with their well wishes and prayers as he goes through this difficult journey.
