Free agent cornerback Tramaine Brock is set to visit the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. Could the two sides potentially strike a deal?

While free agency is all but died down, there are one or two big names still left on the market. One of those is former 49ers cornerback Tramaine Brock.

Brock spent seven seasons with the 49ers before being released this offseason due to an alleged domestic assault on his ex-girlfriend. Now cleared of his charges, Brock will begin his free agency tour with the Seattle Seahawks.

He is set to visit with the team on Thursday.

Brock came into the league undrafted in 2010, but has been one of the 49ers top cornerbacks the past two seasons. He started 31 games, totaling four interceptions and 111 tackles. He was especially solid in pass coverage and ranked among the league leaders in passes defended last season.

Adding in Brock would be huge for the Seattle secondary. The Legion of Boom was anything but that last season. They were embarrassed down the final stretch of the regular season and into the playoffs. Brock would come in and start alongside Richard Sherman on the outside. Pairing those two along with Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas makes the secondary a forced to be reckoned with this season.

For Brock, just because his charges were dropped doesn’t mean he won’t face discipline from the league. We saw Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott slapped with a six-game suspension just the other day due to a similar incident. With how flawed the process has proven to be, who knows how many games Brock could be suspended if the league decides to go down that path?

If a team like the Seahawks are willing to take that risk, they will certainly be inheriting a very talented football player on to their team.
