3. Jeff Mayweather

Family over everything, right?

In this instance, that saying holds a lot more weight than usual. Mayweather, who is Floyd’s uncle and former trainer, has seen the ins and outs of this industry. If anyone knows about boxing, it is this man.

Recently, Mayweather gave his opinion on a sparring video gone viral between McGregor and former training partner Paulie Malignaggi. He was not impressed at all with what he had seen, bashing the skills of McGregor and labeling them as “trash”.

Because McGregor hears everything said about him, I’m pretty sure that he heard the criticism of Mayweather and doesn’t take them too kindly. McGregor, who is known for his lethal striking, is looking to become the first man to knock out Mayweather so hearing about the reaction to his sparring may upset him.

However, looking at someone who has dismissed all your credibility inside the ring is a completely different story. The rage that it may incite could have McGregor break focus during the fight because he is looking to prove to people like Mayweather that his striking is legitimate in boxing.

Although Mayweather hasn’t walked Floyd out to the ring in quite some time, perhaps a change in entourage for the night would be a welcomed confidence boost. After all, Mayweather’s training is partially responsible for Floyd’s undefeated record in boxing.
