Real Madrid face Barcelona at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Wednesday, August 16. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Real Madrid face Barcelona in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup. Real come into the game up 3-1 on aggregate after a dominating performance in the first leg at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona struggled mightily in the first leg on both ends of the pitch. They looked lost without Neymar for chunks of the game and their only goal came from a penalty. In the attack, Gerard Deulofeu was an incredible weak spot replacing Neymar on the left wing. Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi were both a bit easier for Real to hold down due to the weakness that Deulofeu created for Barca’s attack.
Real will be without Cristiano Ronaldo for the second leg after a hilariously entertaining few minutes in the second half. Ronaldo scored an incredibly precise goal, promptly celebrated with his shirt off, earning him a yellow card. Then shortly after the goal he was called for a dive in the box for his second yellow, was sent off and then shoved the referee. All of this led to a five-game suspension. His sending off didn’t stop Real’s attack ripping through Barcelona. They were still a far superior side and will expect to continue their dominance at home.
