LeBron James and Kyrie Irving met up to talk in Miami
By Joe Romano
Cleveland Cavaliers’ teammates LeBron James and Kyrie Irving sat down in Miami to hash out this past off-season.
It sure has been a crazy summer in Cleveland, particularly for teammates LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. The pair has helped keep the Cavaliers at the top of the Eastern Conference for the past three seasons, including a title in 2016, but things appear to have broken down. Here’s the timeline we know:
- Kyrie Irving requested a trade.
- Then went M.I.A. and the team could not contact him.
- LeBron James criticized the team’s plan.
- Irving was caught mocking LeBron’s Instagram dancing.
- LeBron fired back with a possible sub-tweet.
- Recently, reports surfaced that LeBron is “100% out” of Cleveland after this year.
All of this conflict did not stop the two All-Stars from meeting up in Miami though, perhaps to clear the air?

It’s no surprise to see the two meet up in Miami of all places.
LeBron’s connection to Miami is obvious after he played four seasons for the Heat , winning two championships. He took his talents to South Beach, which enabled the Cavaliers to land Kyrie Irving with the number one pick.
Irving is apparently fond of the Florida city as well. The Heat were one of the teams on Irving’s trade list. He spends parts of the off-season in Miami.
Apparently the two happened to both be in the city recently. They were able to arrange a meeting and talk. Details of the conversation remain unknown. James and Irving are both huge media figures with massive influence. This is one of the reasons Kyrie wants out of Cleveland. He thinks he would be a bigger star and have the ability to be the number one option on his own team.

The Cavaliers open training camp on Sep. 25, a little over a month away. If the two are still on the same team, this conversation could be a big reason why. It would show that the two were able to quell their hostility towards each other.
