Burnley won just one match away from home last season. They already equaled that tally this year in terrific fashion. The Clarets scored three goals before halftime against champions Chelsea after Gary Cahill was shown a red card in the 14th minute. They used clever set pieces and smart counters to devastate their opponents and held off the comeback attempt in the second half. Sam Vokes scored twice and Stephen Ward added a cracker in the span of 19 minutes to essentially end the match. They will face a weaker side in West Brom for their first home contest, but one that will likely be harder to break down.
West Brom played exactly like a Tony Pulis coached side does in their first Premier League match. They won 1-0 on a headed set-piece goal in the 31st minute. New loanee Ahmed Hegazy scored the game winner for the the Baggies, as Bournemouth could not find an equalizer. West Brom are easily one of the most uninteresting sides in the Premier League. They play a a defense-first, defense-second style, and rely on set pieces for many goals. It would be surprising to see any sort of high-scoring contest from this side all season. Against Burnley, expect more of the same.
