Pulisic had himself a day in Bundesliga opener
Christian Pulisic led Borussia Dortmund to a win over Wolfsburg in their first Bundesliga match of the season.
Christian Pulisic is at again. The USMNT star appears to be as far in the zone as is humanely possible at the moment.
He scored a goal and added an assist in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Wolfsburg on Saturday. As good as Pulisic was last season for BVB, I don’t think there’s anyway the 2017-18 Bundesliga campaign isn’t “The Season of Pulisic.”
Let’s take a look at his goal first.

The 18-year-old receives the ball at the top of the box in the 22nd minute. He takes a few small touches towards goal. The Wolfsburg defenders then make a giant mistake: they give him space. Much like Steph Curry behind the arc, it’s all the opportunity Pulisic needs. He slams a rocket through the foot of space between the defenders and into the net just inside the far post. Take a bow, youngin.
Unsurprisingly, Pulisic wasn’t done. In the 60th minute, he decided to set up a goal, because he’s a nice person.

Pulisic picks up the ball outside the right side of the box. He takes two touches into the penalty area and unleashes a millimeter-perfect low cross that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finishes with a simple tap-in.
The accuracy of the pass is breathtaking. Sure, Aubameyang makes a nice run, but it would’ve been criminal for that pass to go unfinished. Again, Pulisic exploits the space defenders give him, due to his pace, to destroy them. The path the ball takes across the box is the only possible successful one. It slips directly between an on-rushing defender and the rooted-to-the-ground keeper to find it’s mark.

It was another world-class day at the office for Christian Pulisic. He may have recently said that he won’t think about a move away from Dortmund until after the 2018 World Cup, but potential suitors may break down the door before then.
