Tracking all of the results and highlights from WWE SummerSlam 2017 on Sunday, Aug. 20 and assessing quick-reaction grades for each match.
Perhaps you’ve heard on some type of WWE programming, but WWE SummerSlam 2017 is the biggest party of the summer. As fate would have it, the biggest party has descended upon Brooklyn, NY and the Barclays Center. And on Sunday, Aug. 20, the show is set to tear the house down with some monstrous matches that will set the tone for the rest of the year.
The main event might be one of the best in recent memory as the RAW brand is likely to deliver the goods. Brock Lesnar is in action, and the odds are stacked against him as his Universal Championship will be on the line in a Fatal 4-Way match. Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns don’t even have to pin the champ to win the belt. And with these four behemoths in the ring, it should be an epic clash.
Equally as epic should be the main event from SmackDown Live. Jinder Mahal has taken on all comers to this point, even defending against Baron Corbin after a Money in the Bank cash-in this past week. Now he might not have enough, though, as he’ll put the WWE Championship on the line against The King of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura.
There is plenty more to love about what’s to come at WWE SummerSlam 2017 as well. The Demon Finn Balor will make an appearance to face Bray Wyatt. What’s more, AJ Styles and Kevin Owens with Shane McMahon as a special guest ref could be one of the best matches of the night. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg for a four-hour show.
Don’t miss out on a second of the action. We will be live tracking all results and highlights from WWE SummerSlam 2017 below once the show begins at 7:00 p.m. ET.

It would seem that WWE is very much done trying to push Baron Corbin. Given the failed cash-in on Tuesday and now this, he’s not got a lot of bright things in his immediate future. He was in control for much of the match, but seemed to get disposed by Cena with relative ease when the time came.

Randy Orton def. Rusev
Randy Orton came out first and was jumped by Rusev. The ref checked to see if the match should start, and it did. He ducked a charge from the Bulgarian Brute, then hit an RKO for a win. Yes, this all lasted roughly 10 seconds.

Though it was shorter than many would’ve liked, this was a fun little match between these two. Bray Wyatt tried to play his mind games, but they were ineffective on the Demon King version of Balor. As such, Balor came through and got the massive win for his career.

Just like old time, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose were able to survive and conquer. This was a high quality match that featured craftiness vs power and it worked quite well. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but it was a nice way to see the titles change hands.

While these are undoubtedly two of the most talented men in the entire company, this match would’ve been better served without Shane there. It was just a bit too gimmicky for anyone’s good, and the match suffered because of it.
