With the college football season creeping up on us here, the 2017 preseason AP Poll was released on Monday

This coming weekend, there will be college football on the television. Yes, while Sep. 2 has the Week 1 games that everyone is talking about, there are five games being played on Aug. 26, getting the 2017 college football season officially kicked off. With that being the case, Monday sees the release of the 2017 college football preseason AP Poll.

The college football preseason AP Poll is to be released at Noon ET on Monday, giving us a glimpse at who the top teams are entering the season. While the Coaches Poll was already released earlier this month, it’s no secret that the AP Poll is the one that carries the most weight during this College Football Playoff era.

No. 1 in the Coaches Poll when it was released was the Alabama Crimson Tide and that shouldn’t change with the AP voters either. Nick Saban and Alabama once again have one of the most talented teams in the country, and coming off that heartbreaking national championship loss to Clemson back in January, they’re out for revenge this year, making them one of the most dangerous teams in the land as well.

As for the teams right behind Alabama, that could be a toss up between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Alabama’s Week 1 opponent in Atlanta, the Florida State Seminoles. They were 2 and 3 respectively in the Coaches Poll, however, the AP voters may give the Seminoles the nod at No. 2, making that Sep. 2 game to start the season No. 1 vs. No. 2.
