Blizzard has its own announcement amidst all the Gamescom hubbub, and it’s about Overwatch.

Overwatch‘s Junkrat is an explosives-obsessed Australian who wants to turn everywhere he goes into one big scrap heap. With Overwatch‘s newest map, we’ll get a firsthand look at the big scrap heap that started it all for Junkrat and Roadhog.

Blizzard is taking Overwatch to Junkertown, the next escort map the devs are adding to the game’s lineup. From the map’s introduction video, we get the feeling that Junkertown is a lawless, every-man-for-himself kind of town.

It’s ruled over by “the queen” and it’s filled with both treasure and, you guessed it, junk.

It also used to be the home of BFFs Junkrat and Roadhog, but from the new Overwatch animated short we learn that the two of them have been kicked out after somehow drawing the ire and anger of Junkertown’s queen.

Not to fear though, because Junkrat has concocted a plan to not only get the two of them back inside but also to get their revenge on the queen. It’s because of his plan that the map’s payload is laden with gold and dynamite alike. To see the full story, make sure to give the new animated short a watch.

Blizzard hasn’t specified when the new map will be released, but it will be playable at Gamescom this week. Most likely the earliest it will be made available is after Aug. 28, when the Overwatch Summer Games event comes to an end.

Overwatch previously also announced the addition of a new deathmatch mode, which has been on the public test region for around a week now. There is a chance that and Junkertown may end up dropping in the same patch, but we’ll have to wait on Blizzard for that.
