Vanderbilt – Ralph Webb

Webb will probably be the only player drafted from Vanderbilt in 2018 as he has proved to be a solid running back. There’s a chance Vandy’s offense is better than people think thanks to Webb. If quarterback Kyle Shurmur can improve, Vandy could surprise a lot of people.

Webb’s track record in the conference can’t be underestimated. Webb will return as a fourth-year starter who has carried the rock over 200 times every season. Webb’s also rushed for over 1,000 yards the past two years but found his way more often in 2016. His 13 touchdowns in 2016 proved vital in a few upset wins over the likes of Georgia, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

Webb also does add some receiving skills as well. He caught over 20 passes the past two seasons. In 2015 and 2016, he had at least 7.8 yards per reception. Webb, if nothing more, has proved to be a nice check down option to keep the chains moving.

Can Webb take his talent to another level in 2017? He’s going to have to if Vandy can reach new heights. If quarterback Shurmur can do the same, look out. Shurmur, the son of Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, was highly recruited in 2015. The program hasn’t had a quarterback this talented since the days of Jay Cutler.
