Floyd Mayweather hints Conor McGregor may miss weight

Floyd Mayweather says Conor McGregor is walking around “extremely overweight” for their upcoming boxing match.
Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are set to compete in one of the biggest boxing matches in our generation’s history and there has not been a hitch yet, that is until now.
Last night while leaving his boxing gym Mayweather was approached by FightHype.com and was critical of McGregor’s ability to make weight. Mayweather hinted that McGregor was 10 pounds over the limit on Monday night and he believes the UFC champ may not make 154 pounds for their fight on Saturday.
McGregor won his first UFC title at 145 pounds and had two title fights at the 145-pound limit. Since then, he has fought twice at 170 pounds and won the lightweight title at 155 pounds. His first professional boxing match with Floyd Mayweather was agreed to happen at 154 pounds. According to Mayweather, that weight may be unreachable for McGregor.

“Conor McGregor is extremely heavy right now,” Mayweather said Monday night. ” I think he is 164, so he still has 10 pounds to go. Y’all get that extra money if he can’t make the weight, get those extra millions ready, Dana.”
Mayweather was shown eating a burger from Burger King on the first episode of Embedded released by the UFC last night. He spoke about needing to keep weight on instead of having to cut weight like McGregor. Mayweather has spent his career fighting between 130 pounds and as heavy as 154.
“Well, somebody has to pay a fine, but he has to get that weight down,” Mayweather explained. “A true champion is disciplined and very responsible, but you know, we’ll see. I don’t think he will make the weight, even if he did make the weight that’s even better, but if he doesn’t make the weight we are still gonna fight, it will be a heavy fine. Give me that money.”
There is no word from McGregor’s camp yet on these weight issue allegations.
