11. The Miz & The Miztourage def. Jason Jordan & The Hardy Boyz

Match time: 11:20

I’ve got to be honest here. I didn’t even know this match was going to be on the kickoff show until it actually happened. I don’t know what the pay-per-view bonus structure is for these guys these days with these shows now being on the WWE Network but do you think that the six men involved here would have rather not been on the show at all than have to go out and wrestle in what was essentially an empty arena? Seriously, this looked so awkward.

Before I forget to say it, I am not a fan of the Intercontinental Championship, once a prestigious title that was the second-biggest championship in the company, not being defended at the second-biggest show of the year, especially when there’s an Intercontinental Champion like The Miz that has actually helped bring the title back a bit.

As for the match itself, it may have come off better with a little crowd noise but this was nothing spectacular. Jason Jordan and The Hardy Boyz controlled the match early on and then we went to a commercial break, which I really hate on pay-per-views, even if it is the kickoff show. This one had two hours and you can’t cut down the conversation from the preview panel to let these guys get some time in, especially if there’s nobody in the building.

There was some back and forth and Jordan got the hot tag to get some of his work in but The Miz smartly tags himself in blindly and hits the Skull Crushing Finale to get the win for himself and The Miztourage. This was nothing to write home about and Jordan taking the pin here doesn’t do much for him moving forward.
