Bad news for the NBA — it’s looks like the Best Player in the World is determined to get better this offseason during his usual workouts.

David Griffin’s gone, Kyrie Irving’s in Boston and it doesn’t matter for LeBron James. He still continues his offseason workout regimen in order to get better heading into his 15th season in the NBA.

That’s crazy, right? The best player in the world, who’s coming off of seven straight NBA Finals’ appearances and a triple-double average in the last one, is trying to get better?

James with a vengeance is the best version of The King. Every time someone slights LeBron or proverbially ‘pokes the bear,’ James responds bigger than ever.

There seems to be an target on James’ back now that Irving wanted out of Cleveland and got his wish. Many believe that LeBron’s attitude and preferential treatment played a major role in Irving wanting out.

Not only that, all summer long, LeBron’s had to sit and hear about how the Cavaliers don’t stand a chance against the Warriors and how Kevin Durant’s surpassed the King as the best on the planet to play basketball.

So it seems as if LeBron’s amped up his workouts this summer even more. ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, who works closely with the Cavaliers, is reporting that LeBron’s been ‘obsessed’ with his workouts these past few weeks.

This could be dangerous for the NBA — but also prove to be fantastic for the fans. LeBron’s been coasting the regular seasons, with no real threat in the Eastern Conference.

Next: Winners and losers from the Kyrie Irving trade to the Celtics

With so many doubters and Irving off the Cavaliers, LeBron’s going to want to prove to everyone again why he continues to be the greatest player in the NBA in Year 15. It’s going to be a fun season in Cleveland for everyone involved.
