Report: Barca complete Ousmane Dembele signing
Barcelona have reportedly completed a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele.
Following weeks of speculation, Barcelona and Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele have completed a deal. The French international has favored a move to the Spanish side for weeks, even going AWOL from Dortmund camp. Dembele was suspended by Dortmund and forced to train alone after the club discovered his interest in a move to Spain. Furthermore, the fee has been set at over €110 million.
Dortmund rejected Barca’s initial bid, stating Dembele was not for sale. However, after weeks of speculation, the German giants gave in. Dortmund set its price for the 20-year-old. As the transfer window winds down, Barcelona did not hesitate to meet Dortmund’s asking price and have reportedly come to terms with the club.
At this point, Dembele is seen as the ideal replacement for Neymar up front and will bolster the team’s attack immediately upon arrival. The 20-year-old will play alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez up front. Neymar departed for Paris Saint-Germain a few weeks ago. Additionally, Suarez picked up an injury that will sideline him for around a month. How does MSD sound, Barca fans? Although it will be a few weeks before fans get a glimpse at MSD in action, the attack is sure to still leave spectators in awe.
