For what it’s worth, both the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles managed to split their first two preseason games. But now it’s Week 3 when it comes to these summertime tilts. And that means we should be seeing a lot more from the starters for both Adam Gase and Doug Pederson’s squads.
For the ‘Fins, that means a longer look at new/veteran quarterback Jay Cutler. He didn’t see a lot of action against the Baltimore Ravens last week. He also didn’t look as rusty as many expected considering he was just getting ready to begin his NFL broadcasting career.

In regards to the Birds, second-year quarterback Carson Wentz has been solid this summer. He’s got an array of new targets in Torrey Smith, Alshon Jeffery and rookie Mack Hollins. But it’s the Philadelphia defense that has looked quite well this summer. The team just added cornerback Ronald Darby in a trade with the Buffalo Bills and he enjoyed a nice night against his former team last week.

Speaking of those Eagles’ defenders, coordinator Jim Schwartz, the one-time head coach of the Detroit Lions, is more than familiar with what Jay Cutler can or cannot do. At the very least, it should be a fascinating first quarter in this clash in the City of Brotherly Love.
