26. Martellus Bennett in the NBA

Martellus Bennett is the equivalent of a cute, cuddly teddy bear when it comes to his time off of the football field, but he is an incredible athlete when he turns it on during an NFL game. He’s a Super Bowl champion, a creative superstar with his own “Imagination Agency” and is a popular person to follow if you want to talk about football, superheroes or children’s books.

Before all of this fame and fortune, however, Bennett was a pretty good basketball player during his collegiate career. He played basketball for Texas A&M for two seasons, and, despite some lackluster stats, he had the skills to play on a roster for a major college program.

Bennett only averaged 1.9 points and 1.5 rebounds in 26 games as a freshman with the Aggies, and an even worse 0.5 points and 0.5 rebounds in his sophomore year. However, that doesn’t mean he can’t improve if he wanted to try again, and maybe he could make an appearance in the NBA.

The real reason we want to see Bennett in the NBA would more be for his interactions with some big names like LeBron James, Russell Westbrook or even a guy like Draymond Green. Bennett is a big talker, and it’d be incredible to see what kind of quotes would come out if he was put on the court to defend some of the league’s biggest stars.

Maybe the best bet at this point would be an appearance in the NBA’s celebrity game during All-Star Weekend, but we would prefer to see Bennett join the Cleveland Cavaliers or Golden State Warriors like everyone else and chase a ring to go along with his Super Bowl win.
