It’s time to shake things up again … or whatever catchy phrase Vince McMahon is going to use when the rumored “Superstar Shake-Up” comes back soon. Let’s dive into the post-SummerSlam edition of the WWE Superstar Power Rankings and find out what the fresh new list of 20 stars looks like moving forward.
A long time ago, in a wrestling galaxy far, far away … Dean Ambrose won a Triple Threat match against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to retain the WWE Championship at SummerSlam.
Actually, that was last year, but that match let to a bit of shaking up from WWE in the form of the “Superstar Shake-Up.” Ambrose went to SmackDown Live while his former Shield brothers stayed on RAW. John Cena ended up on Tuesday nights, while Brock Lesnar made his six appearances a year on Mondays.
Things got a bit different, and with the rumors of that potentially happening again, I’ve decided to pull a Bill Belichick and borrow WWE’s playbook for this week’s brand-new WWE Superstar Power Rankings.
Spoiler alert: Jinder Mahal is still No. 1 because The Maharaja is forever.
However, there are some new faces in new places in this week’s rankings moving into the post-SummerSlam portion of the WWE schedule. There’s still some big things ahead for WWE in the literal form of Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman at No Mercy in Los Angeles, which … holy crap, that amount of beef in the ring is going to make Wendy’s jealous.
So, to cut this promo short, let’s get into the new-look rankings, shall we? I have a feeling you’ll find them to be quite … GLORIOUS.
(Disclaimer: The wrestlers chosen for this power rankings list only appear on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live, so that means no NXT/205 Live specific stars are on this list.)
