Genoa face Juventus at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 26. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Defending Serie A champion Juventus, after opening the season last Saturday with a 3-0 victory at home against Cagliari, hit the road for Saturday’s encounter versus Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in a game featuring two of Italy’s most storied clubs.

While this may appear to be another chance for the Old Lady to steamroll past a lower-table club, Juventus know the perils of going into the match with that attitude. Juve lost at Genoa 3-1 last November, giving up three goals in the first 29 minutes. It was part of Juve’s slow start to the season last year, only to accumulate a string of wins (they would only lose five games all season) to capture their sixth straight title.

Nonetheless, Juventus learned that even a roster loaded with talent can have an off-day in one of the world’s most-competitive domestic leagues. The team will be looking to avoid a repeat of that game. With such strong sides as Napoli, Roma, AC Milan, Inter Milan also contending for the title this season, Juventus will need to capture all 3 points in must-win games such as this one.

Indeed, the added competition in Serie A this season puts a lot pressure on Juventus going into a match like this one. On the plus side, Juventus have a lineup with no injuries at the moment, giving coach Massimiliano Allegri a full roster at his disposal. As usual, expect goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and the defense to shine and for Argentine star Paulo Dyabala to spearhead the attack and provide assists for countryman Gonzalo Higuain. In addition, the recent acquisition of midfielder Blaise Matuidi from PSG makes the team stronger in the middle of the park, alongside Miralem Pjanic, given his tackling abilities.

Genoa, meanwhile, are coming off a lackluster 0-0 draw against Sassuolo this past Sunday. Genoa, winners of seven league titles (the last one was in 1924), are a storied club that have often been overshadowed by the most-recent successes of city rivals Sampdoria, with whom they shares a home ground. They avoided relegation last season by a mere four points, but have not done enough during the current summer transfer market to bolster the team. Genoa sold striker Giovanni Simeone (son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego) to Fiorentina earlier this month. The 22-year-old scored 11 league goals for Genoa last season and helped reinforce the attack following the departure of Federico Bernardeschi to Juventus.

This season, the team coached by Ivan Zuric plays a 3-4-2-1 formation (that often morphs into a more compact 3-4-3) which features journeymen strikers Goran Pandev, who has been with Genoa since 2015 and has played for Lazio, Inter Milan and Napoli, along with Andrew Galabinov, who is new to the team. In addition, the backline is anchored by 32-year-old center back Luca Rossettini, who came to the club this summer after playing last season with Torino. Also of note for Genoa was the debut last week of 15-year-old phenom Eddy Salcedo Mora, who had his attempt saved in stoppage time.
