DETROIT, MI - AUGUST 19: Muhammad Wilkerson

It’s the annual preseason tilt between the New York Jets and New York Giants. Check here where you can watch these teams collide once again.

Here’s a sobering thought if you are a fan of the NFL teams from the Big Apple (who play in New Jersey). In two weeks of preseason action, the New York Jets (1) and New York Giants (0) have combined to score one touchdown. It really makes you want to go out and grab some tickets for this weekend’s traditional August tilt. We’re kidding of course. It’s the crucial third preseason contest for both of these franchises.

Date: Saturday, Aug. 26

If you are interested in watching, it doesn’t appear that you will be seeing Giants’ wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. He suffered a sprained ankle in Monday night’s loss to the Cleveland Browns. And now ESPN’s Jordan Raanan and Dan Graziano are told that he could miss the regular-season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Yes, the New York Giants are down a wide receiver. But the New York Jets are still looking for a reliable starting quarterback. We should see enough of Josh McCown, Bryce Petty and second-year prospect Christian Hackenberg against the NFL’s 10th-ranked defense of a year ago. But let’s also give credit where it’s due to Todd Bowles’ team this summer. Led by a lot of new faces, including rookie safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye, the Green and White has allowed one touchdown in eight quarters of preseason action.
