2. Quincy Pondexter, New Orleans Pelicans + Buckets

Buckets Pondexter is absolutely adorable. And from the contents of his Twitter page, he’s also his owner Quincy Pondexter’s biggest fan. The two found each other back in 2013 and legend (read: Instagram) has it that when the husky pup first got home, he laid down next to a basketball and that’s how he got his name, Buckets. From Memphis to New Orleans, Buckets has been by Quincy’s side. The pair have ventured across the United States together, too. And it was good thing Quincy brought Buckets along, because the young Husky not only knows how to drive a car, but also how to fix one.

Beyond being a true road dog, Buckets has a great sense of humor and a sparkling smile (and purple toothbrush). He also has fabulous taste in music, showcasing his appreciation for 90s hip-hop with a #tbt post quoting Ahmad’s timeless hit “Back in the Day.”

Quincy and Buckets have a truly admirable friendship, and they show it, too. Especially when it comes to birthdays. Quincy showered Buckets with all sorts of fun toys, and for Quincy’s birthday, Buckets made a promise to head with him to the Iditarod.  And like us, The Pondexter’s celebrate National Dog Day, too. Enjoy today, Quincy & Buckets!
