12. Gordon Hayward, Boston Celtics + Siber

The Hayward family has a German Shepherd named Siber. He’s adorable. Siber was a present from his wife for their wedding back in 2014. The now four-year old pup doubles as Gordon’s tennis partner and also family security guard for when Gordon is on the road throughout the season.

As a Butler alum, it makes sense that Gordon has a special place in his heart, and home, for dogs. The Butler mascot is an English Bulldog named Blue, who is effortlessly cute, and who Gordon still goes back to visit.

In an interview this past spring with Peter Walsh from SLAM, Gordon noted, “my favorite thing about having a dog is probably whether or not I have a good game, bad game, good practice, bad practice, he’s always greeting me at the door and I love being able to go play fetch with him.” Sounds like a best friend to me.

The two do other best friend things, as well. Like going on scenic hikes and playing backyard basketball.

With all the reported drama that’s going on between Hayward and Gobert regarding Gordon’s Salt Lake City departure over the summer, we’re happy to know he’s got Siber to turn to for some love and friendship.
