South Florida travels to San Jose State to open the 2017 college football season, and fans looking for live stream information can find out where to watch online.

The 2017 college football season is finally here. The schedule for the opening week features five games involving FBS teams. One of the top matchups includes the No. 19 South Florida Bulls, who travel across the country to face the San Jose State at CEFCU Stadium – Home of the Spartans.

South Florida is a heavy favorite to win the game, and most Las Vegas sports books list the Spartans as a three-touchdown underdog. USF is coming off an 11-2 final record, with their only losses to a pair of 10-win teams, Florida State and Temple. The highest ranked team from a Group of Five conference in both the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll, the Bulls have the inside track to a New Year’s Six bowl game appearance.

New USF head coach Charlie Strong inherited a veteran roster headlined by dynamic dual-threat quarterback Quinton Flowers. In 2016, Flowers completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 2,812 yards and 24 touchdowns with only seven interceptions. He also ran for 1,530 yards and 18 touchdowns – averaging 7.7 yards per carry in the process.

Defensively, USF welcomes back leading tackler Auggie Sanchez, who had 120 total stops and six sacks last season, as well as cornerback Deatrick Nichols, who had four interceptions last season and has NFL talent.

But San Jose State is no push over. New head coach Brent Brennan takes over a squad that was 4-8 last season. Brennan, a former Spartans assistant that spent the last six years at Oregon State, inherits the most experienced, and arguably the best, offensive line in the Mountain West Conference. Though inexperience at quarterback is an issue, Brennan welcomes back some exciting skill position players such as running back Malik Roberson and receiver Justin Holmes.

The Spartans struggled against the run in 2016, but ranked No. 19 in pass defense nationally (188.6 passing yards allowed per game). All-Conference cornerback Andre Chachere picked off four passes leads a secondary that welcomes back four starters. Linebacker Frank Ginda, who led the team with 99 tackles and recorded 6.5 sacks, is back as well.
