With the Texas football season about to start for the fall of 2017, a look how to watch the program’s games online.
The college football season is almost here, which means it’s time to determine the next champion of the College Football Playoff. The Texas football program hasn’t been around the title scene for most of the decade, but will look to return to prominence in 2017.
Tom Herman took over as head coach of Texas at the end of 2016, shortly after Charlie Strong was fired. Herman takes charge of a team that missed the bowl season for a second consecutive year, while failing to finish above .500 for the third straight campaign.
The Longhorns lost star running back D’Onta Foreman to the 2017 NFL Draft, so they must replace 2,000 yards of offense for the 2017 season. Kyle Porter and Chris Warren III will be in line for a greater workload. However, some of it load will go toward quarterback Shane Buechele, who returns for his sophomore year. He finished with just under 3,000 yards passing in 2016.
Buechele will eye sophomore wide receivers, Collin Johnson and Devin Duvernay throughout the season. They’re two wideouts with upside, but will battle redshirt junior Jerrod Heard and senior Armanti Foreman for playing time.
Throughout the 2017 season, Texas football will be seen on multiple viewing platforms. They could get extra looks this year and better time slots, with a team that has high expectations under Herman and an overall new look for the program.
