Twin Peaks continues to charge full steam ahead before their two-part season finale. Here’s the synopsis for part 16 of The Return.
There are just two weeks left to go in Twin Peaks. Whether you’ve been watching it as a newcomer or a die-hard fan of the series during its original run, it has been a mind-bending experience. From its shock-and-awe four-hour premiere to the game-changing eighth part and the visually stunning last few episodes, Twin Peaks has been re-writing the rules of television every step of the way. It’s not totally without its faults, but any concerns that it might be bad were put to bed very early.
The only unfortunate part about the Twin Peaks revival is that it’s been going head-to-head with Game of Thrones. It forced Showtime to push the show back an hour so that they wouldn’t air at the same time, but this episode has to go up against the season 7 finale of HBO’s flagship series. Even if this ends up being the best episode of the revival, nobody’s going to talk about it.
Here’s the synopsis for “The Return: Part 16” according to TV Guide:
"No knock, no doorbell."
The most notable thing about the Twin Peaks revival is that David Lynch has directed every episode. You can tell he’s taken great pride in this project by making his character a much more prominent figure after he only appeared four times in the original run. As a result, there’s been a lot more mysticism in “The Return.” He’s also made reference to every element of the Twin Peaks mythology, including deleted scenes from Fire Walk with Me and The Secret History of Twin Peaks.
