Liverpool face Arsenal on Sunday, Aug. 27 in the Premier League. Here are all of the highlights from the match between the two massive clubs.

There’s nothing quite like two of the biggest clubs in the Premier League going head-to-head. The results are always a highly entertaining match, or ate least for the most part. However, it always feels like there’s an extra layer of drama and anxiousness when it comes to Liverpool and Arsenal facing off.

Maybe it’s the larger worldwide fanbases — stateside in particular — or just who the clubs are at their cores, but that just always seems to be the case. And of course, it was again the way things felt heading into Sunday’s match between the two. The only question, though, is which of the two troubled and great clubs willl end up victorious or with the upper hand.

Liverpool earned four points from their first two matches of the 2017-18 Premier League season and looked like a side unwilling to accept anything less than three points on Sunday. Though Arsene Wenger’s side kept trying to hold the ball, it was clear where the quality lied. And it was Roberto Firmino who showed that quality early as he pulled Liverpool ahead 1-0.

For Arsenal to really stand much of a chance given the quality of attacks their opponents were putting together — in stark contrast to their own — they needed to be stout on defense. Sadio Mané had other plans though. Attacking from the left side, he cut in and curled one inside the far post just before halftime.

The bleeding didn’t stop for the Gunners, though. Liverpool struck again in the second half by turning defense into offense. Mo Salah made a standing tackle and used his tremendous pace to take off for a one-on-one with the keeper. He wasn’t about to miss from there and pulled them ahead 3-0.

As if that weren’t enough, Salah struck again later as Arsenal remained unable to get their legs under them on either end of the pitch. Salah sent in a ball to the far post and Daniel Sturridge made easy work of it with his head for the 4-0. It was clear that Wenger didn’t have a chance to handle the Liverpool side on Sunday, and the result reflected that.

Title aspirations are realistic for both Liverpool and Arsenal on paper. For that to happen, though, both clubs needed a big three points from this match. It was clear, however, that this was always a day for Liverpool.
