John Cena and Roman Reigns will soon do battle in the ring, but it won’t be at WrestleMania, rather it’ll be at the upcoming No Mercy pay-per-view

It was bound to happen sooner or later. John Cena and Roman Reigns, two of the most polarizing stars in WWE history, will finally go one-on-one with one another in a match that should be nothing short of a spectacle. However, this match will not be taking place at WrestleMania, like everyone had assumed, rather the leader of the CeNation and THE BIG DOG will go at one another way before that, as the two will have a match at the upcoming No Mercy event in September.

WWE announced a short time ago that the two will make the match official on RAW Monday night.

Earlier in the day on Monday, PW Insider was the first to report that officials within WWE had set the match for No Mercy and the company confirmed that report a short time later.

Last week on RAW, for the first time in a long time, Cena showed up on the show and made it clear he was there for one superstar and one superstar only — that being Roman Reigns. The two were face-to-face with one another in the middle of the ring creating quite the scene, this coming after the two had traded some verbal jabs in the past, foreshadowing what was to eventually come.

There were many out there who believed this mega-match would take place at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans next year, but that doesn’t seem to be the case as of right now. With this match happening at No Mercy next month, that also all but confirms that the main event in New Orleans will see Reigns go after Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship.
