Virginia Tech Hokies 0-0

Last week: N/A
Last rank: N/A

Virginia Tech finds themselves stuck in a loaded conference, but at least in an open enough Coastal division in the ACC to try and make some noise throughout 2017.

Miami is likely the leading team in the division after North Carolina’s loss at quarterback, but the Hokies could make some noise in 2017 season if they get off to a hot start at the beginning of the year. They have a new quarterback under center in the freshman Josh Jackson, and it’ll be interesting to see how the young gun handles playing in a conference that has become one of the nation’s best over the last few years.

N.C. State Wolfpack 0-0

Last week: N/A
Last rank: N/A

N.C. State was a big pest in the ACC last season, and they notably took Clemson to overtime last year in a huge conference game that they had a serious chance at winning. They had the chance to thwart the Tigers’ run on their national title run, and could do similar things this year.

The Wolfpack finished 3-9 last year, but they have the potential to do some serious damage this season if they live up to some of their hype. They open with South Carolina on Saturday, and will get a chance to warm up before a huge game with Florida State towards the end of the month, where they can climb up the ACC ranks early.
